Higher Education Health

Facilitator: Kim Turudia

Thank you for nominating your interest in participating in this Special Interest Forum. The forum will specifically focus on discussion amongst providers of health and wellbeing related services to students in higher education including practice managers, Directors of Student services, campus nurses and health promotion officers.

Providing health and wellbeing services to students and staff within the University environment has challenges including meeting demand, budgetary constraints, expectations of patients / clients, Compliance and Governance processes, meeting the needs of the various cohorts of students and the recruitment and retention of providers as contractors in an environment (particularly in Australia) where the Medicare schedule has seen no real increase for five years. There are University health services finding innovative ways to deliver services to meet demand as the delivery of healthcare changes i.e. the use of technology, wearable devices, SKYPE consultations, health coaching.   This forum will provide an opportunity for members to come along and share their knowledge, ideas and innovations as well as the challenges, I look forward to meeting everyone.
